My Goals for This Year

Get promoted from a senior probationary member in my rescue squad to a full time emergency medical technician.

Improve my time management skills.

Get good grades while maintaining good mental health (personal days are a must)

I see myself in medical school. I am unsure where I would be in the country.

My 10 Year Goals

I see myself as a practicing physician, preferably working in Colombia which is where most of my family is from.

Participated in an internship program with an organization called “mentoring in medicine.” I was the moderator of my group. Our responsibilities included creating and distributing surveys. We then had to analyze the data and am currently in the process of publishing my scientific paper.

I do not have any wet lab research experience.

Work Experience

I am currently an EMT volunteering at Westfield volunteer rescue squad.

I am the founder of a non-profit Art Collective. Our mission is to create a platform for small local artists to display their work. A percentage of their earnings would then go towards other non-profit organizations who we are partnered up with.

Over the summer I attended a 2 month long weekly webinar hosted by neurosurgeons at Lenox Hill Neurosurgery in New York. Although I did not work, I did acquire very useful information and insight into the medical field. I also have the opportunity to do online shadowing where they would give the participants and live view into OR surgeries and explain everything to us live.

I am a member of an organization called Global Medical Brigades. We travel to Honduras for a week to offer free healthcare, public health courses and resources to individuals in an underserved area of the country.

I was a veterinarian technician from 2016-2018.
